Turkey Trot

Start your Thanksgiving off on the right foot with the annual Turkey Trot 5K, a fun, family-friendly run (or walk!) through beautiful Rowayton. In addition to the 5K, the younger Rowatonites can join the fun in the Kids’ 1 mile Gobble Gallop.

Costumes and turkey hats encouraged, strollers welcome, and smiles guaranteed. Whether you're racing to beat your personal best or just enjoying time with loved ones, this community tradition is the perfect way to get moving before the big meal.

Bib Pick-up Begins: 7:45am

NOTE: Packets will be available prior to the event at Darien Runners Company Tues/Wed November 25^th/26^th 3-6pm. Pre-event packet pick-up for friends and family is available. The first 750 to pick up bibs will receive a cozy hat.

Race day bib pickup opens at 7:45am. We do not guarantee race day packet pickup and recommend pick up prior to the event. If you have registered, you can run without a bib, however you will not receive a time. 1 Miler runners do not need bibs, but there are vanity #1 bibs if wanted. You can of course pick up bibs for family and friends.

Race Check-in: 8:30 AM

• Participants gather at the assembly area near the library.
• Last-minute registration and lineup instructions.

Race Starting Line: 9:00 AM

• The Race begins in front of the Rowayton Community Center and proceeds along the designated route through downtown.
• With another record turnout this year we advise everyone to be there at least 15 minutes early.

Start Procedure:

‍Please do not crowd the start…we will have chip transponders at the start that should pick up your time when you cross the start, so you get an official start to finish ("chip") time. So there is no need to rush to the start once the horn is blown. Also, those in the 1-Mile should line up at the back of the pack to allow the 5K runners sufficient room to begin their run.

Admission: Free for all spectators, family and friends.
Parking: Parking is available at Graham Capital located at 40 Highland Ave, across the street from the Community Center.
Race Location/Start: The race starts at 9am in front of the Rowayton Community Center, 33 Highland Ave.
Safety Precautions: Please adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations during the event. Pets should be kept on a leash and owners should clean up after them.
Registration: All registration is being done electronically.
